One person was arrested under the NDPS Act and five others were booked under the Excise and Taxation Act for illicit liquor trade in Kangra district.
Dinesh Kumar Sharma, Additional Superintendent of Police, Kangra, today said Rahul Dhiman of Thulard Shahpur was arrested at Chattri and 35.24 grams of charas was recovered from his possession. He said he was nabbed by the police during a routine patrolling on Saturday evening. A case under Sections 20-61-85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act was registered against him.
He said five persons were booked under the Excise and Taxation Act for indulging in illicit liquor trade from different parts of the district. Dinesh Kumar said Yashpal Singh of Bilaspur Dehra was arrested from his village and 6000-ml country liquor was seized from his possession.
He said Amit Kumar was nabbed By the Jawali police and recovered 5000-ml illicit liquor from him.
Parshotam Chand of Upper Bhadol was arrested and 9000-ml of country liquor was recovered from him. He said Raj Kumar of Chinoor was nabbed and five-litre illicit liquor was seized from him.
He said one more person of Dataid village was nabbed with 1,680-ml country liquor.
