HC summons Transport Secy, two others

The High Court today directed the Secretary (Transport), General Manager, HP Bus Stand Management and Development Authority and Chief Executive Officer, HRTC, Shimla, to appear before the court on October 12.It expressed concern over the conversion of the waiting area into a shopping complex at the Old Bus Stand in Shimla.
A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir and Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan passed the orders on a petition filed by Asha Chauhan alleging that the respondents were planning to construct a shopping complex at the bus stand.
The petitioner challenged the tender notice issued in January 2015. The HP Bus Stand Management and Development Authority, Shimla, invited tenders for repair of the Old Bus Stand, Shimla. The petitioner alleged that on the pretext of repair work, the authorities were converting the waiting area into a shopping complex.
