Free education for Pragpur students

Kangra, January 10

Industries Minister Bikram Singh Thakur today announced free education for poor students in the Jaswan Pragpur segment.

He was speaking at the annual day function of Government Senior Secondary School at Laag Bhalyiana in Pragpur. The minister adopted five students from Laag Bhalyiana school, who would get free education for a year. Students presented a cultural programme and the minister gave them Rs 11,000. He announced Rs 10 lakh for the construction of three rooms in the school. Meritorious students were given prizes.

Neel Kant Sharma, principal of the school, read out the annual report. The minister said Rs 35 lakh had been sanctioned for "Jal, Jeewan" Mission for Pragpur. He also listened to the grievances of the people. — OC
