Two Nepalese women held with charas

The police arrested two Nepali women along with 15.40 kg charas from Kullu last night. The drug was being smuggled from Nepal to Kullu.

According to Kullu SP Gaurav Singh, a team led by ASI Bhoop Singh was working on a secret information that Nepali women were trying to smuggle a large quantity of charas.

Their phones were put on surveillance. The women started yesterday from Haridwar and reached Bhuntar in the night and then hired a taxi.

The SP said at a nakabandi in Manikaran around 1:45 am, the team intercepted their vehicle and seized 15.40 kg charas from them.

He said charas was draped around their bodies. Being women, the search was carried out before a woman. The taxi driver was not found involved in the smuggling. The contraband was to be sold at Kasol. He said this was the single biggest seizure of the year. — TNS
