Research workshop concludes

A two-day research workshop on ldquo;Research Paper and Article Writingrdquo;, organised by SHODH and Sunil Upadhyaye Educational Trust in collaboration with HPU, Shimla, concluded on Sunday. The Vice-Chancellor, Cluster University, Mandi, shared his experiences on research-related issues. He said if India wanted to achieve better results in policy making and implementation, then research-oriented policy programmes were the need of the hour. Organising secretary of the state ABVP Kaul Neginbsp;was the guest of honour. Dr Prashant Gautam delivered a lecture on research ethics. More than 300 research scholars from all over the state attended the workshop. Convener of the ABVP Research Scholars Committee Rinku Kumar said students were keenly observing and learning the technicalities of research-related issues.

Three-day Training programme

A three-day training programme on ldquo;Non-communicable diseasesrdquo;, organised by the Health and Family Welfare Department, concluded in Chamba. Presiding over the programme, Chief Medical Officer of Chamba district Dr Rajesh Guleri said the training was imparted to the health staff on the prevention of non-communicable diseases. Dr Guleri said teams of block-level health staff would also be trained and they would further train health workers. This way, they would examine the people affected due to non-communicable diseases.

Annual function of DPS

Delhi Public School, Jhakri, Nathpa, celebrated its annual function. Children presented various cultural items. More than 150 students presented dance items. Over 50 students were awarded. Chief guest PS Negi, GM, HR, SJVNL, congratulated the school principal, teachers, parents and students on the occasion and lauded their efforts for putting up a good show. School principal Kamal Chand and coordinator Manisha Chauhan Negi expressed their views and encouraged the students to think differently.

Farewell party at SD school

A farewell party was organised for the students of Class XII of SD Senior Secondary School, Shimla. Principal of the school Vijay Singh Thakur was the chief guest on the occasion. The function started with a performance by Class XI students. Harit Sharma and Mehak Negi from the science and arts disciplines bagged the titles of Mr SD and Miss SD, respectively.nbsp;
