CPI, CPM take out joint rally in Chamba

Chamba, December 19

Activists of the CPI and CPM took out a joint rally in the main bazaars of Chamba town today and raised slogans against the Centre and the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

CPM district secretary Narendra said the CAA was against the spirit of the Constitution as under the Constitution, citizenship could not be granted on the basis of religion. ldquo;The Act is against the Muslim community,rdquo; he said.

Narendra said the Centre was diverting the attention of people from burning issues such as unemployment, exploitation, rising crime against women etc. mdash;OC
