Chief Minister Mr Virbhadra Singh while addressing a public meeting at Koti in Kasumpati constituency today said development of every area of the State was being ensured by the State Government by rising above the political considerations. He said that the demands have no limits, but as political representatives, we should ensure that all the genuine demands of the people were met.
He said that the state government was committed to provide job oriented vocational education to the youth of the state. The government had launched Skill Development Allowance Scheme for the youth and was providing skill development allowance of Rs 1000 per month as and Rs. 1500 to the differently abled persons. He said that IIT had been opened at Mandi to provide training to the youth in different trades. Besides, Indian Institute of Management (IIM) was coming up at Dhaula Kuan in district Sirmaur and Indian Institute of Information and Technology (IIIT) at Una for providing them highly professional educational facilities to the youths of the State.
Mr Virbhadra Singh said that three medical colleges would be opened in Chamba, Nahan and Hamirpur. Besides, the government was contemplating to run ESCI medical college and hospital at Ner Chowk in district Mandi. A sum of Rs 650 crore had already spent on the construction of the same by the Labour Ministry of Government of India and now it has withdrawn itself from running the hospital. The talks were going on with them on the issue.
The Chief Minister directed the IPH department for constructing rain water harvesting tank in the area and announced construction of PWD rest house at Shillon Bagh. He also directed to take necessary steps for construction of vegetable marketing yard at Koti. He assured for examining the matter regarding up-gradation of government veterinary dispensary at Koti and announced construction of examination hall in Government Senior sSecondary School (GSSS), Koti. He announced starting of commerce classes in government degree college, Koti. He also announced a sum of Rs. two lakh for construction of road from Koti to Banni and directed the district administration to look into the matter. He also assured to provide adequate funds for renovation of Khateshwar Temple.
He announced for starting science classes in GSSS, Koti and shifting the college campus in the existing elementary school till the construction of the college building was done. He honoured Mr Om Prakash Sharma for donating land for the construction of college building.
Mr Anirudh Singh, local MLA from the area welcomed the Chief Minister to his home segment and placed demands of the area. He credited the development of the area to the successive Congress governments under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Mr Virbhadra Singh. He thanked the Chief Minister for releasing a sum of rupees five crores, out of Rs 22 crore for starting the construction work of the degree college.
Smt. Vijay Jyoti Sen, ex-chairperson, Block Samiti, Kasumpati, also welcomed the Chief Minister.

Earlier, the Chief Minister while addressing a gathering at Bhararia in Dharbog Gram Panchayat of Kasumpati constituency announced upgradation of government primary school, Jatoli to middle school and Sarai Bhawan to be constructed at Kanetia and Jatol. He also asked the district administration to provide adequate funds for a community hall at Kachat. He said that adequate funds would be provided for construction of three additional rooms for government senior secondary school (GSSS) Mundaghat.
The Chief Minister assured to upgrade government senior secondary school at Bhararia from next academic session subject to the strength of the students in higher classes. He said that PHC Jatoli would be strengthened and vacant posts of the doctors would be filled. He directed the PWD department to complete the renovation work of the existing building of government high school, Bhararia.
Earlier, the Chief Minister laid foundation stone of government degree college at Koti in Kasumpti assembly segment to cost Rs 22 crore. He also inaugurated Jungle-Jatol to Kufar-Jatol road constructed at a cost of Rs 67.25 lakhs and also flagged off a bus on the route. He also inaugurated Bhararia- Dharbog road completed with an outlay of Rs. 1.5 crore.
Later, the Chief Minister flagged off HRTC bus from Thund to Shimla via Solan at Shilli village.
Irrigation and Public Health Minister Smt Vidya Stokes, Ex-MLA, Mr Shaunkiya Ram, Councillor, Mr Narendar Thakur, ex-chairperson, Block Samiti, Kasumpati Smt. Vijay Jyoti Sen and other senior officers of the State government were also present on the occasion.
