Auckland House School has been an epitome of learning since last more than 145 years and it was a matter of great pleasure for the school which is celebrating its sesquicentennial celebrations next year, stated Chief Minister, Shri Virbhadra Singh after inaugurating a newly constructed academic complex and auditorium of the Auckland House School completed at a cost of rupees four crore, here today. The Chief Minister said that the school was not only one of the premier educational institutions in the town, but in the State as well. " I was told that the school used to function from Holly Lodge, my private residence, and later was shifted to this place and was an institute of par excellence for the girl students of those days and continued to grow and gradually strengthened and maintained its international image" he said.
He said that the school which was also sister-school of Bishop Cotton, endeavours to promote the highest spiritual, moral, intellectual and aesthetic values and both the schools laid solid foundation on which the sound education system rests today. Now when the school has magnificently constructed separate building for boys with as many as 25 classrooms, having digitized smart learning classes for kids, would go a long way in equipping the children with latest modern technology, which was necessary in the present era when the world was getting technologically advanced. "This would help the students to learn the basics of existing technology at the very early stage and better equip them for facing the challenges of life", he said.
Earlier, Director Sunita John and Principal, Michael. A. John welcomed the Chief Minister and also detailed about the history of the school. He also detailed about the present set up and thanked the Chief Minster for honouring the function and also the School Management Committee and other dignitaries of the town who had contributed generously for funding the school.

A well directed colourful and spell bound cultural programme was also organised on the occasion.
Shri Sudhir Sharma, Urban Development Minister, Shri Tikendar Panwar, Deputy Mayor, Shri Harish Janartha, Vice-Chairman HP Tourism Development Corporation, Deputy Commissioner, Shri Dinesh Malhotra, SP Shri D.W.Negi, faculty members, students of the school and other dignitaries of the town were present on the occasion.
