Governor Smt. Urmila Singh and Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh have expressed grief over the private bus accident at Rutrang near Sangla in Kinnaur district today in which 23 passengers have reportedly lost their lives and 20 others suffered injuries.
They have expressed their condolences with the bereaved family members and prayed for the peace of departed souls. They have also wished speedy recovery to the injured.
The six persons who suffered serious injuries were airlifted from Reckong Peo to Shimla and were admitted in IGMC, Shimla. The rest injured have been admitted at Reckong Peo Hospital.
The Chief Minister directed the administration to provide immediate relief to the family members of the deceased and those injured in the accident. He also directed Health authorities to provide best treatment to the injured admitted.
As per the directions of Chief Minister the district administration provided the immediate financial relief to the injured and next of the kins of the deceased as per Relief Manual.

Dhani Ram Shandil, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister, Shri Anil Sharma, Rural Development Minister, Shri Jagat Singh Negi, Deputy Speaker, H.P. Vidhan Sabha, Shri Rajesh Dharmani, Shri Vinay Kumar and Shri Neeraj Bharati, Shri Jagjivan Pal, Shri Nand Lal, Shri Rohit Thakur, Shri Sohan Lal, Shri Inder Dutt Lakhanpal and Shri Mansa Ram Chief Parliamentary Secretaries have also expressed grief over the accident.
CM inquires well being of injured passengers
Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh visited IGMC, Shimla today evening to inquire the well being of injured of the Kinnaur bus mishap and wished them a speedy recovery.
He directed the hospital administration to provide best medical treatment to all injured free of cost.
Transport Minister Shri G.S. Bali also accompanied the Chief Minister.
As many as 17 injured were airlifted from Reckong Peo through two sorties to Shimla by the State Government who have been admitted to IGMC, Shimla.
Inquiry ordered into Kinnaur bus mishap
Transport Minister Shri G.S Bali has ordered the inquiry into the Kinnaur bus mishap today.
He said that the Joint Commissioner, Transport will conduct the inquiry to ascertain the cause of accident.
