A 52-year-old official of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) died in Kullu district after complaining of severe chest pain on Monday, the police said.
Jeet Singh, a resident of Laakhi village in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, was brought to the BRO's Medical Inspection room near the Solang nullah around 2.30 am on Monday but he fell unconscious soon after, Kullu SP Gaurav Singh said.
His condition did not improve during treatment at the Medical Inspection room and he died on the way to the Mission Hospital in Manali, the SP said.
He added that the Mission Hospital informed the Kullu police that a dead person was brought to the facility.
The body was kept at a mortuary in Manali and the police had informed the bereaved family, the SP said. He added that the post-mortem would be conducted after the bereaved family members arrive. — PTI
