Antra Sharma, student of Pradesh Public School, Bani, near here, brought laurels not only to the school and district but also for the state as well by winning National Young Scientist Award at the National Children Science Congress that concluded at Trivandrum on December 27. Antra is the first student from Himachal Pradesh who has won the award.
Her innovative garbage management model 'e-money bin' was adjudged the best in the innovative scientist category. Antra had innovated a dustbin with seven compartments that would help segregation of garbage at the place of its origin. Antra was awarded with a gold medal, a certificate and a citation by M Chandradnathan, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan.
