The Weightlifting Association of Kangra district organised its third inter-college championship for men and women at Government Degree College in Indora. As many as 30 women and 40 men participated in the event.
In the men's category, Government Degree College, Indora, and in the women's category, Government College, Dhaliara, were declared winners.
In the 45-kg women's category, Manish Kumari of Dhaliara college, in the 49-kg category, Usha Devi of Indora college, in the 55-kg category, Manvi Sharma of agriculture university, Palampur, in the 64-kg category, Raksha of Jwalmukhi college, in the 71-kg category, Radhika of Indora college, in the 76-kg category, Manisha Kumari of Dhaliara college and in the 81-kg category, Manisha Sharma of Dhaliara college won gold medals.
In the 55-kg men's category, Budhi Singh of Jwalamukhi college, in the 61-kg category, Yashnav of Dhaliara college, in the 67-kg category, Tarun of Khudian college, in the 73-kg category, Shekhar of Indora college, in the 81-kg category, Abhishek of Dhaliara college, in the 83-kg category, Sahil of Jawali college, in the 89-kg category, Manish Singh of Indora college, in the 96-kg category, Umesh Chowdhary of Dhaliara college, in the 102-kg category, Raman of Indora college and in the 109-kg category, Robin of Indora college won gold medals. Balbir Thakur, member, Himachal Pradesh Beopar Kalyan Board, gave away trophies and certificates to the winners.
