Delimitation schedule of Municipal Corporation Shimla - Shimla Now

H.P. State Election Commission has directed the Deputy Commissioner, Shimla for delimitaion of the wards of the Municipal Corporation (M.C.) Shimla on the basis of 2011 census.
A Spokesperson of the State Election Commission said here today that the tenure of present Municipal Corporation was completing on 5th June, 2017 and the Registrar General Census of India had notified the census data of M.C. Shimla As per the data the population of Shimla town has increased from 1, 42,553 to 1, 69,578.
As per the schedule the draft of delimitation proposal would be published on 24th October, 2016. He said that the citizens of M.C. Shimla could file objections on the draft proposal of wards before Deputy Commissioner Shimla between 25th October to 3 rd November,2016. The disposal of the objections would be done by the Deputy Commissioner within ten days of their filing. He said that an appeal on the orders of the Deputy Commissioner could be filed before Divisional Commissioner Shimla within 10 days and the disposal on this appeal would be done within 10 days.
Final notification of delimitation of wards would be issued on or before 6 th December, 2016 by the Deputy Commissioner.
