A Spokesman the State Government said here today that 6th October, 2013 had been declared as a public holiday (if necessary) in the areas of those Panchayati Raj Institutions where the bye-elections are scheduled to be held to fill up the vacant seats in these Panchayati Raj Institutions. All Government Offices, Boards, Corporations, Educational Institutions and Industrial Establishments situated in the State under Industrial Disputes Act and shops would remain closed on the said date in the areas of these Institutions. This would also be a paid holiday to daily wages employees and also within the meaning of Section 25 of Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881.
He said that Special casual leave may be given to those employees who were working in different places in the State but have a right to vote in above Panchayati Raj Institutions on the production of certificate from the concerned Presiding Officer that the employees has actually to cast his/her vote.
