Manali Winter Hill Climb, a three-day motor sports event, organised for the first time in coordination with the Manali Winter Carnival ended here today.
Chandan Sharma, a resident of Jagatsukh village in Manali, was adjudged the overall winner of the event while Hem Raj, a resident of Chichoga in Manali, and Hitesh Sharma, a resident of Model Town in Manali, were declared the first and second runners-up, respectively. Tanvi Gupta, a resident of Batahar village in Manali, won the overall title in the women's category. The prize distribution ceremony will held at Manu Rangshala, the main stage of the Winter Carnival, in Manali tomorrow.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur had flagged off the rally from Vashisht on January 2. Transport, Forest, and Sports Minister Govind Singh Thakru, Iamp;PH minister Mahender Thakur, MP Ram Swaroop Sharma, Banjar MLA Surender Shourie and many other politicians and officials were present on the occasion. The rally was held in 14 categories and 40 persons, including three women, participated. It gave the message of "Road Safety" and "Drug Free Manali."
