Rs 28 crore for development of Chamba

Chamba, January 4

An ambitious plan with an outlay of Rs 28 crore for the development and promotion of various tourism activities in Chamba has been drawn. This was stated by Chamba MLA Pawan Nayyar at a workshop of Asian Development Bank (ADB) here yesterday. Under the plan, parking lots, beautification of tourist spots and other works would be executed with the ADB''s financial assistance.

Nayyar said development of shrines, Jot, Khajjiar, Chamera dam reservoir and natural adventure sites was also on the anvil.

District tourism officer Vijay Kumar said this way, tourism potential of Pangi and Dalhousie would also be tapped.

Dalhousie would have a proper lighting facility, Kumar said. — OC
