The 45 feet tall effigy of demon king Ravana along with son Meghnadha and brother Kumbhkarna was consigned to flames at Jakhu Hills by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, as the Nation today celebrated Dussehra, the festival symbolising victory of good over evil signifying Lord Rama’s Victory over Ravana with great zeal and gusto.
The Chief Minister said that Dussehra symbolises victory of truth and good and anyone eyeing on the Nation with an evil eye would certainly be given a befitting reply.
Earlier, in the day he inaugurated the Rs 1.30 crore ‘Kirtan Hall’ got constructed by Sankatmochan Temple Trust at Sankatmochan. He also paid obeisance at Shodsha Ganapati temple and at Shree Ram Temple and also performed Havana.
