Specially-abled kids dance to popular Bollywood tunes in Shimla

Shimla, Sept.21 (ANI): Over a hundred specially-abled children danced to popular Bollywood tunes and sang at a cultural event on Friday evening here.
The event was a part of a special festival in the city that is organised for the differently abled children to amuse the kids with games, fairs and cultural performances.
Dressed in colourful attire, the participants, who came from 15 different organizations in the city, were happy to showcase their talents in front of guests and parents.
"We have been arranging this programme since the last 14 years. Children from 15 organizations in Himachal Pradesh are participating in this. Total 150 children are here. Children are very excited and happy. You can see them performing. The children are very happy to perform here," said event organiser Rajiv Meherotra.
Meherotra added that such events motivate and inspire the differently abled kids and bridges the gap between mainstream society and their secluded world.
With music and cheers around, a participant, Akashjeet enjoyed every bit of the show and said that he loved dancing.
"I like this event. I like to dance," he said.
According to UNICEF, the differently abled children across the globe are sometimes excluded from the mainstream society and therefore remain cut off from education, health and other services.
