Siddu is a one of the most loved dishes in Himachal mostly in Mandi, Kullu, Manali, Rohru and Shimla.
Ingredients:
1) Atta 600 gms
2) Poppy seeds 150 gms
3) Yeast 5 gms
4) Salt to taste
5) Ginger 20 gms ginger
6) Zeera 5 gms
7) Green Chili to taste
8) Garlic 20 gms
9) Onion 50 gms
10) Desi Ghee 100 gms
Method:
1) Dessolve yeast in warm water. Knead Atta with the yeast and keep for two hours for feratation.
2) Soak poppy seeds for four hours then grind with green chilli, ginger, zeera, garlic, onion to make a thick paste. Add salt to poppy seeds paste and mix it well.
3) Make equal balls of the Atta dough and Stuff with Poppy Seeds Paste.
4) Par-cook the Siddu on hot tawa. Now steam the Siddu in a steamer till well raised.
5) Serve with Desi Ghee.
