Chief Minister also directed to submit the status of funds spent under Local Area Development Authority (LADA) on development of the areas which fall in periphery of hydel projects in the State.
He also announced starting science classes in government senior secondary school in Garola in District Chamba and also sought report for upgradation of government middle school, Fagot in Chamba. He also directed to start science classes in GSSS Utrala.
He said that the State government was spending a sum of Rs 2.62 crore for providing training to the youth of the community in Handicraft and Handloom so as to enable them to enhance their skills and adopt the profession for earning their livelihood. He said that a sum of Rs 950 per month was also being given to them as stipend per month.
The Chief Minister also directed for construction of Sheep washing farm at Hadsar and was informed that the case had been forwarded for forest clearance and soon the Sheep dip farm would be constructed. A decision was taken to provide adequate funds for renovation of Sheep Dip farm in Bandla Surad in Palampur and in Utrala.
The government is endeavoured to develop the non-tribal areas where there is more population of Gaddi community, said the Chief Minister. There were 924 such villages which fall in non-tribal areas inhabited by the community. To develop such areas having population of more than 40 percent and extend other benefits to the non-tribal gaddis, a sum of Rs 4 crore is being spent on construction of roads, Rs 75 lakh on drinking water and irrigation schemes, Rs. 2.45 crore on agriculture and horticulture, Rs 85 lakh on Animal husbandry and Rs 1.37 crore for construction of community buildings.
Virbhadra Singh directed to give protection to Gaddis when they move with their flock during winters towards the lower areas and vice-versa.
The Chief Minister also directed for setting up hand-pumps in Indora ward in GP Gagwal where more than 95 percent of ST/SC population resides. Decision was taken to provide a sum of Rs 5 lakh to lay new pipe-line from Dibri to Gonth village in Bharmour. It was also decided to set up two hand-pumps in GP Sihnwa in Shahpur, Kangra.
The Chief Minister directed to conduct survey for opening Ayurvedic dispensary in GP Lalot-Baroti in Salooni in district Chamba and a community inn in Nag Temple Kotla in Palyur in district Chamba. The Chief Minister also directed to construct Mule road from Guldi to Thapnali.
It was also informed in the meeting that HRTC bus service has been started from Nurpur-Indora via Lodhwan and vice-versa.
It was also informed in the meeting that a sum of Rs 38.75 lakh has been spent for providing housing subsidy to 55 beneficiaries of the community in Kangra district.
Chairman, Wool Federation Raghuvir Singh Thakur welcomed the Chief Minister and detailed about the schemes for the welfare of the Gaddi community.
