जनसाधारण को सूचित किया जाता है कि भारतीय दण्ड संहिता की धारा 171ख, 171ग के अनुसार यदि कोई व्यक्ति निर्वाचन प्रक्रिया के दौरान धनराशि या अन्य किसी प्रकार का परितोषण (Gratification) प्राप्त करता है या परितोषण देता है, जोकि किसी व्यक्ति के मतदान करने के अधिकार में प्रभाव डालता हो, को एक साल के कारावास या जुर्माना या दोनो की सजा हो सकती है। रिश्वत लेने व देने वाले के खिलाफ मामला दर्ज करने के लिए प्रत्येक विधानसभा निर्वाचन क्षेत्रवार उड़न दस्तों (Flying Squads) का गठन किया गया है। 

समस्त नागरिकों को सूचित किया जाता है कि वे निर्वाचनों के दौरान किसी भी प्रकार की रिश्वत लेने व देने से बचें और यदि 50 हजार रुपये से अधिक की राशि और 10 हजार रुपये से अधिक का सामान ले जाना हो तो उससे सम्बन्धित दस्तावेज/बिल अपने साथ रखें, यदि कोई भी व्यक्ति रिश्वत देता है या रिश्वत दिए जाने बारे जानकारी रखता है, तो वह तुरन्त शिकायत जिला शिमला में स्थापित जिला स्तरीय अनुवीक्षण प्रकोष्ठ (Complaint Monitoring Cell) में स्थापित 24x7 निःशुल्क दूरभाष नम्बर (Toll Free Number) 1950 पर सूचित कर सकता है।

It is for the information for General Public that "as per section 171B, 171C of Indian Penal Code, any person giving or accepting any gratification in cash or kind during election process, with a view to inducing the person to exercise his electoral right is punishable with a view to inducing the person to exercise his electoral right is punishable with imprisonment upto one year or with fine or with both. Flying Squads have been formed to register cases against both the giver and the taker of bribe. All the citizens are requested to refrain from taking any bribe during elections and if anybody carrying cash exceeding 50,000/- and material of 10000/- should also carry all supporting documents/bills. In case, anybody offers any bribe or is having knowledge about bribe, then he should inform to toll free number 1950, working 24x7 Complaint Monitoring Cell of the District set up for receiving complaints."
