Himachal Pradesh was awarded the best-performing state in the education and health sector in India Today State of States Conclave today





Himachal Pradesh has been awarded the India Today State of the States Award survey for the best performance in the health and education sectors in the category of large states of the country. Referring to the achievements of Himachal Pradesh in health and education sectors, the Chief Minister said that the state is second only to Kerala with 83 percent literacy rate. There are 15,556 government and 3252 private schools in the state. Apart from this, 139 degree colleges, five universities, central universities, six medical colleges and IITs are functioning, while AIIMS is also going to open soon.

He said that every possible effort is being made to provide qualitative health care facilities to the people near their homes. The state government has launched Himcare scheme with the aim of providing free treatment facilities to the beneficiaries in the registered hospitals. Rupees have been spent So far, 42 crore rupees have been spent on providing treatment to 43 thousand people under this scheme. Ayushman Bharat scheme is being implemented in the state in an effective manner and Rs 33 crore has been spent to provide medical facilities to more than 35 thousand people under it.
