Youth Congress leader Sanjay Gandhi was set to visit Tashkent in the Soviet Union three days prior to Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s visit to Moscow. Fossils of a small rodent-like creature known as insectivore, which palaeontologists believe gave rise to earliest primates, were recovered from a site in Haritalyanagar in Bilaspur district in Himachal Pradesh. A research team from Panjab University found a dozen specimens of insectivores consisting of complete skulls, mandibles and fragmentary skeletal parts.
