Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on his second day tour of Rohru constituency performed foundation stone ceremony of Pabbar River Channelization to cost Rs. 191 crore at Mandli. The river would be channelized from Tikkri to Hatkoti and 177.68 hectares of land would be reclaimed benefiting population of 2,000 houses. The channelization on completion would save property worth Rs 662 crore which remains under threat from floods in the Pabbar river. Besides, it would also provide protection to 19 water supply schemes of the area, six bridges and two power projects which falls in danger zone of the river.
The Chief Minister also laid foundation stone of 22 KV Sub Station at Kansakoti in Rohru to cost Rs. 2.16 crore. This will benefit population of as many as 50 villages of 16 Panchayats of the area benefiting population of 25,000. Besides it will also solve low voltage problem along with transmission and distribution losses.
Virbhadra Singh also performed foundation stone ceremony of additional accommodation of Government Senior Secondary School (Girls), at Dashalani to cost Rs.1.77 crore. He also performed Bhumi Poojan of Badiyara-Tikkar-Diswani road to cost Rs. 4.85 crore, Bhumi Poojan of Kanewara-Khashkandi road to cost Rs 4.05 crore.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated Indoor Stadium at Samala in Rohru completed with an outlay of Rs. 11 crore which is constructed by HIMUDA in area of 48,500 square feet with intake capacity of 1,000 people.
Earlier, Members of Press Club Rohru called on the Chief Minister and thanked him for providing necessary infrastructure to the club.
