The State government has decided to continue the National Mission on Food Processing Scheme which has been de-linked by the Union government from year 2015-16 as State Mission on Food Processing (SMFP) with the objective to facilitate Food Processing Industries in the State.
A spokesman of the State government disclosed here today the State Industries department will act as Mission Directorate for implementation of SMFP in the State and these schemes will be 100 percent State sponsored schemes.
He said six schemes are being implemented under SMFP. Under the technology up-gradation/establishment/ modernization of FPIs (cost of plant and machinery and technical civil works) scheme the grant-in-aid would be 33 percent with maximum limit of Rs. 75 lakhs. Under the cold chain for non-horticulture products scheme, there would be 50 percent grant-in-aid for which maximum limit had been fixed at Rs. five crore.
For promotional activities like organizing seminar/workshops, conducting studies/surveys, support to exhibitions/ fair and advertisement and publicity scheme, grant-in-aid will be 50 percent. Maximum limit of grant-in-aid for organizing seminar/workshop and conducting studies/surveys would be Rs. four lakh each. The quantum of assistance will depend on merits of the proposal.
Under scheme for creating primary processing centres/collection centres in rural areas, 75 percent grant-in-aid would be provided with maximum limit of Rs. 2.50 crore and for modernization of meat shops scheme, 75 percent grant will be given with maximum limit of Rs. five lakh. Under reefer vehicles scheme, 50 percent grant-in-aid has been fixed with maximum limit of Rs. 50 lakhs.
