The State Government have been opened 240 collection centres under Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) so far in the apple belts of the State. More procurement centres would be opened as per demand of the fruit growers during current apple season.
A spokesperson of the Horticulture Department disclosed here today that 12825 trucks carrying 57,71,333 boxes of apple had been exported to the markets. He said that 1551.560 metric tonnes of apple had been procured under MIS by HPMC and HIMFED upto 20th August, 2015.
