M/s Tata Sons has shown its interest in making investment in various key sectors like manufacturing, tourism, agriculture, infrastructure and power sectors in the State.
The representatives of Tata Group held an interactive meeting here today with key departments of the State government under the chairmanship of Pr. Secretary (Industries) Mr R.D. Dhiman. This meeting was held in relation of the meeting of Mr Madhu Kanan, Member Executive Council, Tata Sons with the Chief Minister Mr Virbhadra Singh and Industries Minister Mr Mukesh Agnihotri during Investors Meet held at Mumbai on 5th & 6th November, 2014.
The representatives of the Tata Group disclosed that they were interested to take a decision for investment in these sectors after studying the viability of investment.
The Group has shown its interest in making investment in defence equipments in collaboration with reputed Global Companies; Ready to Drink beverages for export in manufacturing sector, luxury high end tourist resorts with all facilities and ropeways in tourism sector, tea in agriculture sector and housing, commercial projects and tunnels on PPP model, waste management, water purification and solar street lights in the urban areas in infrastructure sector. It has also indicated to invest in hydel power generation in the power sector.
The representative of Tata Group also apprised that M/s Mount Everest Water Limited which had its natural mineral water manufacturing plant at village Dhaula Kuan, Tehsil Paonta Sahib in Sirmaur District stand amalgamated with M/s Tata Coffee & Tata Global Beverages Limited and they were in the process of submitting a proposal for substantial expansion of this plant.
Mr R.D Dhimam said it was decided during the meeting that the sector specific experts of Tata Group would visit the State to study the viability of investment in these sectors and would hold a series of meetings with the concerned line departments and agencies of the State Government.
He apprised Tata Group about key initiatives taken by the State government for ease of doing business and assured best cooperation to facilitate investment of Tata Group in the State.
Mr Deepankar Tiwari, Vice President, Group Business Development & Corporate Affairs, Mr. K. Venktaramanam, Director, Tata Coffee & Tata Global Beverages Limited and Mr. V. Madan of M/s Tata Global Beverages Ltd., Commissioner Industries Mr Rajender Singh, Commissioner, Tourism Mr Mohan Chauhan, senior officers of HIMUDA, HIMURJA, Agriculture Department, Urban Development and Infrastructure Development Board held long discussions regarding various investment proposals in the State.
