Urban Development Minister Sudhir Sharma told here today that Himachal Pradesh Government has made a provision for the MLAs to provide funds under MLA Local Area Development (MLALAD) Scheme for setting up community Wi-Fi services in their constituency to enable the people to digitally connected under Digital India Initiative. He said that it would be a big step in empowering the rural people and a step towards technological advancements in Digital World.
He said this initiative was taken under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna Programme of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. as part of Digital India initiative for setting up Wi-Fi Hotspots in rural areas of the country for better connectivity.
