Nepal prime minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is expected to visit Jhakri district in Shimla on September 17. He will visit 1500 MW power project at Jhakri being run by SJVN Limited, a joint venture of Union government and Himachal Pradesh government.
SJVN is also executing 900MW Arun-III project in Nepal. Sources in the government said Dahal would come to Jhakri from Chandigarh on a chopper. After inspecting the project, Dahal would return to Chandigarh the same day.
A senior police official said that in the wake of proposed visit of Nepal PM, tight security arrangements have been made. Sources said Dahal would be provided z-plus security. Along with police personnel and commandos, a bomb disposal squad and a dog squad too would be deployed within the area. Over 500 security personnel and CID jawans would be deployed.
Sources said series of meetings are being held at state police headquarter to finalize the security arrangements for visiting PM.
