Mr Virbhadra Singh laid foundation stones of science block of government senior secondary school Banuna to cost Rs. 2.48 crore, forest rest house at Himri to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 25 lakh and bus stand at Jalog which will be constructed by spending Rs. 1.61 crore and also laid the foundation stone of office and residence of Horticulture Development Officer to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.12 crore. He also laid foundation stones of 10 kms. long Danpan-Sandoa-Sarya-Galaha road which will cost Rs. 6.45 crore, Ayog-Sandoa lift irrigation scheme to cost Rs. 1.46 crore and Primary Health Centre building at Dharogra to be constructed by spending Rs. 1.09 crore.
The Chief Minister laid foundation of Pandoa khud to Khal Bagri lift drink water supply scheme in gram panchayat Himri which will benefit seven panchayats of Seraj area covering a population of around 10500 including the floating population. The scheme will fulfill the water requirement of around 16,000 people of these panchayats till the year 2048. The scheme will be completed in three stages with an outlay of Rs. 20 crore.
He also flagged off a bus service between Dharogra to Shimla.
Addressing a mammoth gathering on occasion of closing ceremony of Baisakhi Mela of Devta Mahakaleshwar Sahib Pandoi, the Chief Minister said that the State government was committed for the overall development of far-flung and rural areas which sans basic facilities. The top priority was being given to road connectivity and as of now 27 road projects worth Rs. 87 crores had been sanctioned for Shimla Rural constituency. Besides, one bridge worth Rs. two crore had also been sanctioned for the assembly.
He said that eight water supply schemes with an outlay of Rs. 3.60 crores were completed in the constituency during last two years whereas work on 24 drinking water and irrigation schemes amounting to Rs. 118.36 crore was in progress. He said that foundation stone of the biggest drinking water supply scheme of the area amounting to Rs. 20 crores was laid today.
Mr Virbhadra Singh said that three ITI’s had been opened at Jalog, Dargi and Sunni which would facilitate the local youth in polishing their skills for adopting different trades for self employment.
He announced for construction of Sarai Bhawan for Pandoi Mahakaleshwar Devta temple complex and a foot bridge to connect Pandoa with Parlog gram panchayat of Karsog area across the Sutlej river.
Mr Virbhadra Singh also announced veterinary dispensary and a rain shelter for Ogli.
He announced a sum of Rs. 10,000 to the school children who presented cultural programme on the occasion.
State Youth Congress President Mr Vikramaditya Singh felicitated the people for successfully organizing the month long Pandoi Devta festival. He assured that problems of the people of the area would be redressed on priority. He also listed the developmental works undertaken in the area during the present government’s regime. He also supported the demand of Sarai Bhawan for Pandoi Devta Temple.
Earlier, Pradhan gram panchayat Baag, Narbada Bhandari welcomed and honoured the Chief Minister.
Irrigation and Public Health Minister Smt. Vidya Stokes, Shimla Rural Block Congress President Mr Chandershekhar Sharma, Member, Protection for Child Rights Commission Smt. Kusum Verma, Deputy Commissioner Mr Dinesh Malhotra, Engineer-in-Chief Irrigation and Public Health Mr R.K. Sharma and other senior offices and prominent persons of the area were also present on the occasion.
