The Skill Development Allowance Scheme is gaining popularity among the youth of the State. Within a short period of four months skill development allowance amounting to Rs. 17,28,500 has been disbursed to 1548 beneficiaries who are enrolled in different types of skill development training.
A spokesperson of the Labour and Employment said here today that various steps had been taken to publicize the Scheme by way of radio jingles being broadcasted through Radio and F.M. Channels, flex banners, hoardings, posters and through SMS to youth etc.
In order to improve the employability of the educated unemployed youth of the State and to help them upgrade their skills and capacities, the Government of Himachal Pradesh has notified the Skill Development Allowance Scheme, 2013. This Scheme was originally announced in the Budget Speech for this financial year by Chief Minister, in the month of March, 2013. The Scheme was made broader based by reducing minimum age eligibility to 18 years and minimum education eligibility to10th pass and registration as on the date of the application instead of two years registration in Employment Exchange.
